Dear Reader Fred started his business in the garage, of course, since that is traditionally the place where innovations take place. But the day came when his mother wanted to put her car there and exiled him. There is no excuse to forgo a chance to become rich, Fred thought, and he tried to find another garage plus money. He rhapsodized about his plan to everybody and his uncle. They all lauded him but none put up an ante. His banker was nice, he played tennis with Fred and shared a beer with him, but he would not part with a penny of his money. In desperate need of cash, Fred even considered marrying his daughter, but found that his wife objected to that. This is where venture capital and growth capital comes in, hand in hand with the government. Who? The government? Giving a hand to a growth story? Yep. Singing the praise for innovative start-ups in the fields of decarbonization and digitalization, they promised to give them growth money. We shall follow all Freds and wait for the scene to explode.
Have a nice week!
