Half-Year Update - Swiss Venture Capital Report 2026
CHF 1.25 billion in venture capital went to Swiss start-ups in the first half of 2026 â 15.5% less than in the same period of the previous year. This investment volume is thus on a par with the levels of 2023 and 2024. The number of investments remained stable at 123. However, there were significant shifts across sectors and cantons.

14th edition of the Swiss Venture Capital Report
Significantly more money for Swiss start-ups - Investment in knowledge-based start-ups rose by 23.9% to CHF 2.9 billion in 2025, according to Swiss Venture Capital Report, published by the online news portal startupticker.ch and the industry association SECA in cooperation with startup.ch.

Erstmals liegen zuverlässige und unabhängig erhobene Renditezahlen fĂźr einen wesentlichen Teil des Schweizer VC-Marktes vor. Dies ist ein wichtiger Meilenstein fĂźr mehr Transparenz in einer Anlageklasse, die â ungeachtet ihrer steigenden Bedeutung fĂźr innovationsgetriebene Volkswirtschaften â noch immer mit limitierter DatenverfĂźgbarkeit konfrontiert ist.

With invested capital of around CHF 360 billion, Swiss asset managers are already key players in the dynamically growing private markets segment. A joint study by AMAS, SECA and BCG shows how the Swiss private market ecosystem can become a mainstay of the financial centre by expanding its investment capacities.

Investment in knowledge-based start-ups fell again in 2024, by 8.5% compared with the previous year. The number of financing rounds also fell for the first time. These are the findings of Swiss Venture Capital Report, published by the online news portal startupticker.ch and the industry association SECA in cooperation with startup.ch.

Half-Year Update - Swiss Venture Capital Report 2024
Now published! The half-year update of the Swiss Venture Capital Report 2024. In the first six months of the current year, Swiss start-ups generated a total of CHF 1,082.4 million in venture capital. This represents a decline of 9.5% on 2023. The number of financing rounds also decreased, falling by 10.4% to 138. But although the figures are roughly similar to those of last year, analysis of investment by sector and maturity level of the start-ups shows clear differences and a contradictory picture emerges. Although young start-ups from some sectors or fields such as AI and energy generation and storage are able to attract investors, late stage investment is in short supply. Read more.
